7-Days Educational Safari In Rwanda

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & City Exploration

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL) you will be picked up by Wantya Africa expeditions representative and transfer to your accommodation in Kigali, have lunch and in the afternoon, you will explore the Kigali city, including: Kigali Genocide Memorial ( a crucial site for understanding Rwanda's history and promoting peace), Kimironko Market ( a vibrant local market showcasing Rwandan crafts and produce).

Day 2: Akagera National Park - Wildlife Game Drive

Early morning after your breakfast, you will transfer to Akagera National Park. Have lunch a long the way. In the late afternoon, you will have a game drive in Akagera, focusing on savanna wildlife like zebras, giraffes, and various antelope species.

Day 3: Akagera National Park - Boat Safari & Community Visit

After breakfast you will head to lake Ihema for a morning boat safari on Lake Ihema, observing water birds, hippos and crocodiles. In the afternoon after lunch visit a local community near Akagera to learn about their livelihoods and interactions with the park.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu & Coffee Plantation Visit

Early morning breakfast and transfer to Lake Kivu, check in into the lodge and after lunch you will visit a local coffee plantation to learn about coffee production from bean to cup.

Day 5: Lake Kivu - Boat Trip & Fishing Experience

After breakfast you will head out for a morning boat trip on Lake Kivu, visiting local fishing villages and learning about traditional fishing practices and the afternoon after lunch you will participate in a traditional fishing experience with local fishermen.

Day 6: Musanze Caves & Cultural Performance

Early morning after breakfast, you will transfer to Musanze, explore the Musanze caves, learning about their geological formations and historical significance and the afternoon after lunch enjoy a traditional Rwandan cultural performance with music, dance, and storytelling.

Day 7: Return to Kigali & Departure

Transfer back to Kigali after breakfast and depending on the time of you flight you can opt to visit to the Inema Arts Centre.
