7 Days Rwanda Akagera Wildlife And Chimpanzee Trekking

Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda | Relax at Your Hotel

On your arrival in Rwanda, you will be welcomed and picked by our Wantya Africa Expeditions guide who will be holding an A4 paper with your name printed on at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked and be transferred to your hotel where you will check in.

Day 2: City Tour | Genocide Memorial Visit | Travel Akagera National Park | Boat Ride | Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, we go on a city tour visiting the Genocide memorial site which gives a brief history of Rwanda.After the city tour, you will be driven to Akagera National Park. You will check in at your lodge and have some lunch then rest as we get prepared for our evening gamedrive.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive | Travel Back To Kigali

We arise early and leave right after breakfast for a game drive in Akagera National Park. We will be searching for big mammals like Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, several Antelope species, and recently the re-introduced Lions and Rhinos.

Day 4: Travel to Volcanoes National Park | Visit the Dian Fossey Center | Cultural Village Tour

After breakfast, drive northwards to Volcanoes National Park. On your way, you will visit the Dian Fossey Center in Musanze then you head to the park. In the evening you will visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for community interaction.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park | Drive To Lake Kivu | Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear and drinking water and ascend in the forest to track the golden monkeys. While participating in golden money trekking.

Day 6: Optional Activities | Drive to Nyungwe National Park | Canopy Walk

This morning after breakfast you will do either the Kayaking or boat ride on Lake Kivu and drive to Nyungwe National Park which takes about 2 ½ hrs drive. You will have lunch on the way and thereafter continue to Nyungwe National Park.

Day 7: Last Day with Us | Chimpanzee Trekking | Drive to Kigali | Flight Back Home

After an early breakfast, with a packed lunch drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the Do's and Don'ts of chimpanzee trekking then after, you embark on your trek. Two species of chimpanzee occur in Africa.
