Day 1: Arrival at the Kigali International Airport

On arrival at Kigali International Airport, our dedicated team of Wantya Africa Expeditions will meet and greet you and assist with customs. We will then transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Enjoy the hotel amenities and have dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Akagera National Park, home of the Big 5. On the way, enjoy the landscapes and the hills of Rwanda. Have an en-route game drive with beautiful views as you drive to the lodge

Day 3: Akagera National Park Experiences

Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. After breakfast, take your packed lunch box and visit the giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephant, buffalos and many others.

Day 4: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a Kigali city tour. Here, you will go for a visit to the Genocide Memorial Center, the local markets in Kimironko, and see the daily activities of the local Rwandan people with smiles on their faces.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Adventure

On this day, you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a thrilling hike in search of chimpanzee communities. The Rwandan chimpanzee population is thought to consist of approximately 400 to 500 individuals confined to the Nyungwe.

Day 6: Tea Plantation Experience and Departure

On this day, you will enjoy an early breakfast at your lodge before embarking on the tea plantation experience where you will engage with the local people. After this adventure, proceed to the hotel for check-out and drive back to Kigali.
