7 DAYS BEST OF UGANDA’S CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY TOUR

Day 1: Transfer to Kampala

Early morning pick up right after breakfast, you will drive to Kampala city. On arrival, you will visit Kasubi Tombs (UNESCO Heritage Site) to learn about Buganda Kingdom’s history after you head to the Kabaka’s Palace and the Idi Amin Torture Chambers for insights into Uganda’s past. Have a traditional lunch at a local hotel (local dishes like luwombo) and then head to Mengo & Lubaga Cathedrals showcasing colonial-era architecture. In the late evening we shall attend a Ndere Troupe performance showcasing traditional dances from different Ugandan tribes.

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja – Ssezibwa falls ,Source of the Nile & Basoga Culture

After your early morning breakfast ,you will transfer to jinja (2-hour journey).Along the way we shall have enroute at Ssezibwa falls where we shall engage in a historical stoical that will amaze you, proceed to jinja visiting the Source of the Nile where you will have your lunch and then go for a boat cruise on the Nile while you learn about its historical significance. After, visit the Basoga community for a hands-on experience in traditional music, storytelling, and crafts.

Day 3: Transfer to Moroto.

At 7am after your break fast, you will depart jinja to transfer to Moroto, the drive will take long around 7 hours. You will have lunch along the way. Check in at Moroto hotel and a possible evening Walk in Moroto.

Day 4: Mt Moroto and Tepeth tribe Hike.

This morning you will go hike Mt. Moroto and also visit the Tepeth tribe along the slopes of Mt Moroto. The Tepeth tribe have similar chacterictics and beliefs like the Masai of kenya. These people reside in conical mud and wattle huts.

Day 5: Cycling tour or Motor bike Tour of Karamoja region.

This morning you will go for a motorbike or Mountain bike tour in the region for better exploration of the local communities. Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a cultural village ceremony, before you embark to your journey to go experience the Traditional cattle camp. We suggest you camp at this ground.

Day 6: Drive and transfer to Sipi Falls.

At 9am, you will drive to transfer to sipi falls. Go for a nature walk in Sipi falls and then later relax. Later you will go visit the Sebei community and also experience the Sebei caves, to learn more about the Sebei culture. These are cultures and traditions that believe in female genital mutilation, but this is no-longer practiced. Later you will retire at your lodge.

Day 7: Drive back to Kampala.

At 8am, you will drive to transfer back to Kampala. The drive will take 4 hours arriving in the afternoon. End of 7 days Cultural and community tour.
